No. 23 VB Hosts West Virginia

Bears to play last two conference matches at home

WACO, Texas – The 23rd-ranked Baylor volleyball team hosts West Virginia on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
 
BU (14-12, 8-8 Big 12) is set to take on the Mountaineers (9-19, 2-13 Big 12) for the matinee matchup. The Bears have a 16-match win streak against WVU going into the match, eight of those wins being clean sweeps. At the Ferrell Center, Baylor holds a 10-2 record over the Mountaineers.
 
The Bears are coming off a three-set loss to No. 17 Kansas, the 11th ranked matchup of the season for BU. Baylor was led by both Allie Sczech and Elise McGhee with 12 kills apiece, but saw freshman Kendal Murphy produce seven kills for a career-high. Setter Averi Carlson had her 10th double-double of the season with 36 assists and 13 digs. Carlson is on her way to breaking into the top-10 for career assists at Baylor, needing just 150 additional to take 10th outright with 2,463. Both Carlson and libero Lauren Briseño have 61 aces in their career, Carlson serving up 31 so far this season. 
 
Baylor looks to finish off the regular season and conference slate at home with the WVU match and then hosting Houston on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
 
The Mountaineers come to Waco on a seven-match losing streak, five of them being sweeps. It will be the 26th matchup between the teams, with both coaches in their ninth seasons at the helm. WVU is led by junior outside hitter Hailey Green with 377 kills, their setter Lauren DeLo dishing out 977 assists thus far. DeLo also leads the team in aces with 25 overall, while sophomore middle blocker Tierney Jackson has 73 blocks for their defense.
 
It will be the Clean Water Awareness match as well as the Camper Reunion for the Bears, with post-match autographs offered.
