WACO, Texas – The No. 19 Baylor women's basketball team dominated Hardin-Simmons in its lone exhibition contest on Friday night, powering past the Cowgirls, 120-41.
All 13 Bears saw the court with newcomer Yaya Felder logging a team-high 21 minutes. Every player scored, as five finished in double figures. Point guards Sarah Andrews and Jada Walker each dished out eight assists, while Kyla Abraham grabbed a team-best seven boards.
With Catarina Ferreira's free throw midway through the fourth quarter, the Bears put their 100th point on the board. Defensively, Baylor held the Cowgirls to just 19% (11-for-58) shooting from the floor, while tallying 17 steals and nine blocks.
Baylor opens the 2023-24 regular season on Monday when it hosts Southern at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
