Cooper has impacted SACE operations, relationships with campus

Working with Associate AD for Academic Services Ramone Cooper at both the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Baylor University, Joshua Young has seen himmaking his "mark on every campus that you touch," especially in how he connects athletics with the rest of the university.
"There are three things that stand out about you," said Young, Baylor's Assistant AD for Academic Services. "You're cerebral, you're innovative and you're a dynamic leader."
Cori Bolts, Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Success, said Ramone has been a "tremendous asset to our SACE team" since joining Baylor Athletics in August 2021.
"We're so grateful for how you selflessly serve in our space," Bolts said, "not only to our student-athletes that you're serving, but also members of our team. It's been awesome to see your impact, specifically in how we operate. You've helped with our relationships across campus and us building bridges that way."
Cooper isn't afraid to "get in the trenches with us and help us out with whatever it may be," said Molly Ann Walke, Associate Director of Learning Support.
"You are constantly pushing us to be excellent," Walke said. "You're able to view the big picture in a way that I'm not. I really appreciate when I come to you with an idea, and you're able to put your analytical lens on it and really figure out how we can make my ideas into a reality.
"I really appreciate your mentorship and guidance, and I know that under your leadership we can achieve excellence."
In his role, Cooper provides administrative leadership and oversight to a 16-person academic services team while also serving as a secondary sport program administrator for track and field.
Previously, he worked in athletic academic services at UAB, Georgia, North Carolina State, Towson University and the University of Louisville, where he earned a master's degree in Sport Management.
