Will Lattimore sees the big picture and is boots on the ground

In the world of event management & facilities, Will Lattimore has to think quick on his feet, sometimes troubleshooting with the skill of MacGyver.
"Sometimes, you're put on the spot, yet you just consistently make good decisions," said Henry Howard, Associate AD for Capital Projects and Championships. "You help so many departments, whether it's men's and women's basketball hosting home events, being the secondary SPA (sport program administer) for baseball, you make quality decisions that help the program grow and head in the right direction."
Starting at Baylor as a football equipment graduate assistant in May 2012, Will was hired in a full-time role the next summer as assistant director of facilities and operations. He moved up the ladder from assistant to associate director, became a director of event management & facilities in 2017 and then moved into his current role as Assistant AD nearly five years ago.
"In this world, we have people who see the big picture and we have boots on the ground. With you, Will, you're both," said Chad Jackson, Senior Associate AD for Governance and Regulatory Affairs. "You see the big picture and let that inform what we do on a day-to-day basis. I'm grateful for your passion and love and devotion for this university and what we stand for."
Honored with the One Standard, One Accord award for making all decisions in accordance with governing regulations, Lattimore displayed his undying commitment to Baylor eight years ago on the day he graduated with a master's degree in sport management.
Already working with event management & facilities, Will helped in the Ferrell Center parking lot for about two hours, "came inside, threw on your cap and gown, slammed down a Vitek's gut pack and walked the stage yourself," Howard said.
"And then – oh, by the way – instead of celebrating with your family immediately after walking the stage, you finished your job," he said. "You got all the people to outflow from the parking lot before you celebrated with your family. . . . It was quite a scene to see you park a few hundred cars, walk the stage and then help those guests get out of the arena that day."
Congrats, Will, on your 10-plus years of service at Baylor and your One Standard, One Accord award.
