Watching Taylor Halsey grow and develop from a student worker at LSU to her full-time role as Director of On-Campus Recruiting for Baylor football, Keava Soil-Cormier said she has "exceeded all expectations."
"You're always positive, you're selfless, helping others," said Soil-Cormier, Associate AD for Personnel. "You do a great job with the recruits and their families and our events. We're just lucky to have you, and it's been a pleasure to work with you."
A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Halsey worked as an LSU football recruiting student assistant from 2019 to '22 and also worked as an LSU Athletics' marketing intern. She graduated from LSU with her bachelor's degree in marketing in 2021 and her MBA in '22.
Before moving to Waco to take on her role with Baylor football, Halsey served in the same capacity for one month at the University of Missouri.
"I'm so thankful I get to practically share an office with you as we're next door to each other," said Madelyn Martin, assistant to head coach Dave Aranda and operations assistant with Baylor football.
"You are all things – sweet, charismatic and humble. There's not a task that you're not willing to do. And there's not a friend that you're not willing to meet. As director of on-campus recruiting, you're perfect for the job."
Larry McDonald, Assistant AD for Football Recruiting, said Taylor is "more than just a co-worker."
"You're a friend, you're a sister," McDonald said, "and I appreciate everything that you've done since you've been here to make my job, my life, my family's life a lot easier and Baylor football a lot better. I enjoy working side by side with you every day."
Winning the One Standard, One Accord staff award for treating others with dignity and respect, Taylor is a shining example of Colossians 3:12: "As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone."
