
VB’s Stowers Earns Second-Straight Rookie of the Week from Big 12

Freshman had 36 kills over two matches
IRVING, Texas – Baylor volleyball outside hitter Kyndal Stowers has been named Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive time from the Big 12 Conference, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Denton, Texas, native once again balled out for the Bears on the week, recording 36 kills over the two matches with then-No. 11 Washington State and then-No. 19 Ohio State to lead the team.
In the loss against the Cougars, she had her third overall match with 20 kills, also collecting her third double-double of the season with 11 digs. She had an impressive 5.00 kills per set and 2.75 digs per set in the four-set match.
To help the Bears get the win over the Buckeyes, she had the second-most kills on the team at 16 for 3.20 kills per set. She showed her talents on defense as well with two solo blocks and one block assist. She also dug nine balls on the night.
She earned the accolade after being awarded both the Rookie of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week on September 12.

The No. 18 Bears finish off the non-conference slate, hosting Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night at the Ferrell Center at 6 p.m.
