Bears to compete in third meet of the season at the Watts Cross Country Course
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor cross country is back on the road this weekend for the NCAA South Central Regional, hosted by Texas A&M at the Watts Cross Country Course. The gun wills sound at 9 a.m. for the women's 6k race, followed by the men's 10k at 10 a.m.
The Bears plan to travel 12-total athletes with eight women and four men on the roster.
Baylor women have been led by freshman standout Ruth Kimeli all season. Kimeli has garnered three top 15 finishes in the regular season and opened the postseason with a 26th place finish at the Big 12 Championship. The last time Kimeli raced on the Watts Cross Country Course was in October at the Arturo Barrios Invite where Kimeli recorded a personal-best 6k time at 19:37.8.

Women's 6k: Jackie Addy, Anna Garner, Kat Helmer, Ruth Kimeli, Jordan Ledington, Ella Perry, Rosanna Pugh, Alaina Zamorano
Men's 10k: Nick Hruskoci, Jack Sterrett, Devin Duran, Nolan Keenan
Baylor will be competing against 39 men's teams and 40 women's teams, including Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Grambling State, Houston Christian, Lamar, Louisiana State, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, SE Louisiana, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, TCU, Texas Southern, Texas State, UT- Rio Grande Valley, Tulane, Little Rock, Arkansas, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, New Orleans, North Texas, St. Thomas, UT Arlington, UT Austin, UT San Antonio, Incarnate Word and West Georgia.
The top two placing teams at Regionals will receive an automatic bid to the national championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Verona, Wisconsin at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course. Another 13 at-large teams will be selected by the NCAA Division I Cross Country Subcommittee. Thirty-eight individuals will be selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process. The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships.
