MT Adds Drew Hedgecoe to 2025 Signing Class

Hedgecoe comes to Waco as the No. 2 recruit in North Carolina

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis head coach Michael Woodson announced Thursday morning the signing of Drew Hedgecoe, an incoming freshman from Fayetteville, N.C, on National Signing Day. Hedgecoe is rated as a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network.
 
"We're very excited to have Drew Hedgecoe joining us for the 2025-26 season," said Woodson. "Drew's experience competing with America's best on the national stage while attaining the highest level of academic achievement speaks volumes about his character and work ethic. I'm positive he will make a tremendous and immediate impact for the Bears, both on and off the court."
 
Hedgecoe joins the Signing Class of 2025 as a three-time 3A NCHSAA State Singles Champion (2022, 2023, 2024). The North Carolina-native holds an impressive 53-0 singles record during his career at Terry Sanford High School. Hedgecoe is a three-time First Team All-State selection and three-time All-USA Today HSSA National Boys Tennis Team honoree.
 
The No. 2 recruit in North Carolina and No. 45 recruit in the nation based on Tennis Recruiting Network, Hedgecoe holds notable tournament finishes underneath his belt. He walked away as the Georgia Bowl Champion in 2024, a doubles finalist and a fifth place singles finisher in the 2024 L2 Rome and a doubles quarterfinalist at the 2024 Boys 18 National Championships.
 
Hedgecoe is the son of the David and Claire Hedgecoe. His father played baseball and basketball at Wake Forest and his mother played tennis at Davidson College. Hedgecoe will join the Bears next fall for the 2025-26 season.
