Bears face Aggies at Willis on Friday
WACO, Texas – The ninth-ranked Baylor equestrian team hosts No. 2 Texas A&M on Friday at 12 p.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center to finish out the fall slate.
It will be "Thanksgiving at the Willis" with fans encouraged to bring canned goods to the marketing table to donate to the canned food drive, benefitting Caritas.
The Bears (1-3, 1-3 Big 12) take on the Aggies (4-2, 1-2 SEC) for their second non-conference meet of the season.
Last time out, BU faced No. 5 SMU on the road, falling 15-3 to the Mustangs on Nov. 9.
A&M comes to Waco after falling to No. 1 Auburn on the road, 15-4, also on Nov. 9.
Both teams have had a week of practice and rest and are rearing to compete.
Baylor made no significant changes to its lineup heading into the meet with the Aggies, starting familiar faces.
Through four meets, BU is led by Emma Covarrubias, Lauren Jorgensen and Lauren Reid in Fences, all with a 2-2 record. In Flat, both Madison Mitchell and Reid lead the squad with a 3-1 record. For Western, Alexis Rutledge leads Baylor in Horsemanship (3-1) while Emily Moomaw leads in Reining (2-2).
So far this season, the Bears have won the Fences event once, Flat twice and Horsemanship once.
Live results for Friday's meet can be found here. A full recap and final scoresheet from the meet will be uploaded to BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of competition.
