The Bears are set to play their first home matches of the season this weekend
WACO, Texas – The Baylor women's tennis team opens its home campaign with a doubleheader on Friday, hosting Denver and Incarnate Word beginning at noon. The Bears will remain home for another set of matches against Grand Canyon (10 a.m.) and No. 19 Texas A&M (4 p.m.) on Sunday.
All matches are set to be played at the Hurd Tennis Center and admission is free for all fans. While supplies last, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches will be handed out at the first match while a team poster giveaway is slated for the UIW match. On Sunday, coffee and donuts will be available prior to the Bears' match against the Lopes.
The quartet of matches are the Bears' last before heading to Cincinnati to begin Big 12 play.
Baylor and Denver will face off for the third year in a row, both matches resulting in a 5-2 win for the Bears, while Baylor and Incarnate Word last met in 2018 when the Bears won at home, 6-1.
Grand Canyon is coming to Waco for the first meeting between the Bears and Antelopes since 1989 and only the second meeting all-time. The Aggies are visiting Waco after knocking the Bears out of the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, 4-0, in Bryan-College Station.
