VB Earns 2024 AVCA Team Academic Award

Bears receive academic honor for third-straight year
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Baylor volleyball has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for the third-straight season, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
The Bears earned a 3.41 average GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, with a 3.44 in the fall and 3.37 in the spring. Baylor has earned the award seven times during McGuyre's tenure.
BU was one of 10 Big 12 institutions to earn the award, alongside BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Utah.
A record number of volleyball programs have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award with more than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintaining a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.
Fans interested in purchasing tickets for the upcoming Baylor Volleyball season can visit BaylorBears.com/Tickets. All seats are general admission for volleyball in the Ferrell Center. The Bears will host 19 home matches, including three non-conference tournaments, starting on August 30 with Abilene Christian.
