
XC Wraps Season-Opener at UIW Twilight

Multitude of Bears post personal best times
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Baylor cross country concluded its season-opener meet Friday night at the UIW Twilight at the Classics Elite Soccer Complex with the women in fourth place and the men following in sixth.
The Baylor women were led by graduate student Jackie Addy, who recorded a career best finish and time in the 4k. Addy finished eighth with a time of 14:35.6, shaving down nearly a minute from her previous best time.
Following behind Addy was Kat Helmer, who also recorded a PB in the 4k with a time of 14:40.5 and finish of 14th place. Clara Diepenbrock made her collegiate debut and opened with a top-three score of 14:41.2 and in 15th place. Anna Garner notched a PB time of 14:50.8 to finish in 25th. Jordan Ledington finished 27th and Alaina Zamorano and Kira Dietrich both wrapped up scoring the Bears with 35th and 36th place finishes. Overall, the Baylor women tallied 89 points, 41 points behind first-place Incarnate Word.
The Baylor men were led by Nolan Keenan, who was Baylor's top finisher at 19th and recorded a PB 6k time of 18:46.9. Keenen was followed up by freshman Caden Biltz who finished 42nd. Straton Miller (44), Ben Archer (47), Aiden Ramshaw (50) and Caleb Ackman (58) were the other scoring runners. The men put up 160 points overall.
With the week off next week, the Bears will travel to College Station for the Texas A&M Invite on September 13th.
