Bears to compete in first of three meets in Aggieland

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor cross country heads to the Watts Cross Country Course Friday to compete in the Texas A&M Invite. The men will compete in the 8k starting at 8 a.m., followed by the women running the 5k circuit at 8:45 a.m.

In the Bears' season-opener in San Antonio, the women finished in fourth in the 4k with the men behind in sixth in the 6k event. Overall, seven Bears left with new personal-best times in their event.

Last year, three women competed in the Texas A&M Invite in Alaina Zamorano, Anna Garner and Abby Morris. The trio crossed the finish line within the top 87 spots, split by just 42 seconds.

Fourteen other teams join the Bears at the Texas A&M Invitational, including Texas A&M, Blinn College, Houston, Louisiana, North Texas, Oklahoma, Sam Houston, SMU, St. Edwards, TAMU-Commerce, Tarleton State, TCU, Tulane and UT-Tyler.
