Pilot fall tournament is first of three tennis championships in Waco in 2024-25
WACO, Texas – Tickets for the 2024 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships at Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center are on sale now through the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office. The six-day tournament that crowns four national champions begins on Nov. 19 and will conclude on the 24th.
After being held after the team championship each spring, the singles and doubles championships will play out as their own events during the fall semester for the first time in 2024.
With Baylor already playing host to the team championships in May, the Bears will now welcome the nation's top players to Waco three times in the 2024-25 academic year, in addition to the first two rounds and back draw matches of the 2025 and 2026 ITA Division I Men's National Team Indoor Championship.
Student-athletes can qualify for the fall championship draw through the ITA All-American Championships (four singles, four doubles teams), ITA Regional Championships (26 singles, 13 doubles teams), ITA Conference Masters (four singles, three doubles teams) and ITA Sectional Championships (24 singles, 12 doubles teams). Criteria for qualification was selected by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and the NCAA Singles & Doubles Pathway Task Force.
Between the men's and women's programs, three Bears have hoisted an NCAA singles champion trophy, with Benedikt Dorsch being Baylor's first individual tennis champion in 2004, followed by Zuzana Zemenova and Benjamin Becker sweeping the titles in 2005.
Tickets for the NCAA Team Championships, scheduled for May 15-24, 2025, will be released at a later date.
