WACO, Texas – The 23rd-ranked Baylor volleyball team starts a nine-match homestand with the fourth iteration of the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge on Friday and Saturday at the Ferrell Center.
The Challenge has made its way to Waco after taking place at the other three institutions in as many years.
Friday's action for the Bears starts at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center when they take on No. 18 Minnesota. The full schedule for the tournament is below.
The Bears (4-0) face the Gophers (1-1) after sweeping Rice on Tuesday in Houston for the fourth sweep of the season. Against UM in the Challenge, Baylor is 1-2, but Minnesota leads the all-time series, 5-1.
BU is led by sophomore
Kendal Murphy through four matches with 40 kills, while fellow sophomore
Victoria Davis is leading the Bears in blocks with 12. Senior
Lauren Briseño has already dug 46 balls while
Elise McGhee has served up seven aces.
All four matches for the Challenge will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available on BaylorBears.com/stats. Baylor volleyball alumna Katie Staiger Smith is on the call with Lincoln Rose for Friday's matches.
