STORYLINES
LEADING OFF
• Baylor Baseball heads north to Arlington for a premier weekend at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series, facing off against a pair of ranked teams and another Power-4 opponent in No. 8 Oregon State, Ohio State and No. 25 Auburn.
• BU is off to a 7-1 start to the season, it's best since 2019 and just the fourth time since 1995 that the Bears have opened the year 7-1 or better [2017 (8-0), 2019 (8-0) and 2008 (7-1].
• Baylor took care of SFA on Tuesday night, 9-4, marking its seventh-straight midweek win dating back to last season.
• Baylor returns 22 players from its 2024 roster, including six position player starters, and welcomes 18 newcomers.
• BU has 16 seniors on its 2025 roster, including six fifth-year players and three sixth-year players.
• The Bears are led by the outfield trio of seniors -- Enzo Apodaca, Ty Johnson and Wesley Jordan, who accounted for nearly 36% of the team's offense a year ago (176 of 491 hits)
• Baylor plays a combined 13 games against five NCAA Tournament teams in 2025 and will face 10 30-game winners, including two squads that won 40 or more games last season.
• 46% of the schedule features opponents that finished 2024 with a top-75 RPI.
SERIES HISTORY At GLOBE LIFE FIELD
• Baylor is still in search of its first win at the new home of the Texas Rangers; since its opening in 2020, Baylor is 0-6 at Globe Life Field.
• The Bears went 0-2 at the 2022 Big 12 Championship at GLF, then dropped a rain-moved contest against TCU in 2023, and went 0-3 at the 2024 Shriners Children's College Showdown.
• BU won its only previous meeting against Oregon State, a 4-3 thriller in 10 innings at the 2005 College World Series.
• This will be the first meeting between Baylor and Ohio State.
• BU also won its only other previous meeting with Auburn, a 12-6 contest at the 2021 Round Rock Classic.
• The Bears are 10-11 at in-state tournaments over the last eight seasons, including four trips to the Shriners College Classic in Houston, an appearance at the 2021 Round Rock Classic, a showing at the 2018 Frisco College Classic, and a trip to the 2024 Shriners Children's College Showdown in Arlington.

EARLY SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
• Baylor completed its first Opening Weekend sweep since 2019, outscoring Youngstown State 38-11.
• The Bears posted back-to-back shutouts against UTSA and Gonzaga, the team's first consecutive shutouts since April 1-2, 2021.
• BU's bullpen has allowed just eight earned runs across 35 innings of relief, good for a 2.06 ERA.
• Junior LHP Ethan Calder was named the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week after his outstanding Opening Day start in which he struck out 13 batters in just five innings against Youngstown State.
• Through eight games, Baylor is hitting .342 as a team, the nation's 14th-best batting average, and has compiled 90 total hits, ranking 25th nationally.
• The squad's 2.15 team ERA ranks 10th in the country and the club's .462 on-base percentage ranks 13th.
• For the second week in a row, Baylor is currently receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 25 poll. Baylor has not been ranked in a major poll since 2019.
CONTROLLING THE RUNNING GAME
• Opponents have attempted to run just twice on Baylor pitchers and catchers, and have been caught stealing both times.
• Meanwhile, the Bears have already stolen 13 bases as a team offensively, a third of the squad's entire 2024 output (39 stolen bases).
