THE RUNDOWN
The Bears battled against Texas Tech all through the Sunday afternoon thriller, as Lillie Walker kept a shutout going until the seventh inning. Keeping TTU off the board in the top of the first, Carson Frier showed off her arm when she threw out the runner trying to steal second for the second out of the inning. Walker fanned the last batter of the inning to hold off Texas Tech's hot offense.
Baylor's Shaylon Govan singled in the bottom of the first but wasn't able to capitalize with one out and the Bears were held scoreless.
After an inning-opening strikeout in the second, Frier gunned down her second runner of the game after a throw to Amber Toven to keep the Red Raiders off the base path.
The Bears retired the Red Raider's in order in the third before Leah Cran recorded a two-out single in the bottom half of the inning but that would be all the action the Bears saw.
Texas Tech threatened with runners on second and third in the fourth, who seemingly came home to score on a Baylor error, but the batter was called out of the box and the runs were erased and the batter was awarded a strikeout to keep it a 0-0 game.
Presleigh Pilon recorded an infield single in the fourth inning but was caught stealing to end the threat.
With a runner on in the fifth, Texas Tech lined out into a double play executed by Pilon who made the diving stop before throwing the runner out at first to stop the Red Raiders from scoring in the inning.
Baylor had its best chance of the game in the bottom of the fifth after a leadoff single from Toven and a pinch-hit double from Faith Piper had runners on second and third with no one out. Not able to capitalize, Texas Tech recorded three-straight outs to keep BU scoreless in the fifth.
Getting runners on again in the sixth the Baylor defense and Walker went to work picking up another strikeout and stopping the Red Raiders from scoring. Turiya Coleman walked in the bottom half of the sixth and advanced to second on a wild pitch but that would be it until the seventh.
Scoring two earned and one unearned run in the seventh, Texas Tech took the 3-0 lead after a double a passed ball and a sacrifice fly.

HIGHLIGHTS
QUOTABLE
Head Coach Glenn Moore on the game …
"We just faced the No. 1 pitcher in the country in two games out of three and competed. Certainly, small victories I guess because she shut us out, but we had really good at-bats and forced her to throw a lot of pitches and did everything you need to do to win a close game except for get that big hit once again. I thought out defense played good behind Lillie. Lillie played phenomenal; she faced a good offense. There are a lot of positives, but it all comes down to we need wins now. We're falling further and further behind, but we've got to find a way to get some W's."
Lillie Walker on her game plan …
"I was just trying to mix speed and stay true to my plan. Obviously stay down in the zone. Against a really good offense, you've got to bring your best, so my focus on hitting my spots and keeping them off balance with a change of speed."

The Bears will go on the road to face No. 14 Oklahoma State in a three-game conference series March 21-23 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
