Bear rebound leader receives nod on 50-player finalist list
ATLANTA – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association named Baylor's Darianna Littlepage-Buggs a Regional Finalist for the Coaches' All-America Team, announced Tuesday by the association.
As one of 50 finalists across the nation that will be shaved down into the 10-member WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team, Littlepage-Buggs would become Baylor's first WBCA All-American since NaLyssa Smith earned the honor in back-to-back 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Littlepage-Buggs contributed 13.8 points per game in 28 games with 11 double-doubles. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native posted 19 games with double-digit points, 17 with double-digit rebounds, and put together a 20-point, 20-rebound game against UNLV, the first for a Bear since 2022. This season, Littlepage-Buggs was named Big 12 Player of the Week once, scored her 1,000th career point at Houston in February and is one of two players across Power Four conferences with eligibility remaining to average a double-double.
NCAA Division I head coaches who are WBCA members may nominate players from their own teams for Coaches' All-America. They then vote for the top players in their respective regions from among those players who are nominated. The WBCA NCAA Division I Awards Committee, which is composed of head coaches from each region who are elected by their peers, may select up to 12 additional at-large finalists from the remaining pool of nominees.
The committee will meet in Tampa, Fla., in conjunction with the annual WBCA Convention to select the 2025 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team, to be announced on April 3.
