BU is making its first appearance at the event since 2021
DALLAS — Fresh off its best finish of the season at the Hackler, Baylor men's golf will tee it up at the Maridoe Collegiate beginning Monday morning in Dallas.
Head coach Mike McGraw likes what he saw from his team last time out and looks forward to seeing them take another step forward on a course that is close to home.
"I really liked how we competed from start to finish in our last event, and I just want to see us build on that this week," he said. "It's always nice to play close to home, giving our families and the Baylor fans a chance to watch us play."
Zach Heffernan will play at the No. 1 spot for the third-straight event and the fifth time this season. The senior is fresh off a top-20, tying for 18th in his last start at the Hackler Championship.
Jonas Appel will play at No. 2 on the heels of a final-round 70 to close out his last start in South Carolina.
Drew Wrightson will get the nod at No. 2. The redshirt junior is the only player on Baylor's roster who competed for the Bears at Maridoe in 2021, where he finished tied for 60th.
Davis Ovard will play at No. 4, coming off his best team event of the season, finishing tied for 13th at the Hackler, leading the Bears.
Jackson Hymer will play at No. 5 for the second-straight event. The freshman will look to get off to a good start again after opening with an even-par 72 last week in South Carolina.
Sam Dossey will compete as an individual, making his first start since the Prestige Individual in mid-Feb.
The event consists of 36 holes on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The final round will also be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. A full list of hole assignments, live scoring, and stats for the tournament will be available on Clippd.Scoreboard.com.
