IRVING, Texas – Baylor men's tennis senior
Oskar Brostrom Poulsen earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after a successful 3-1 overall weekend in the state of Utah.
Brostrom Poulsen helped guide his team to an undefeated weekend on its Utah road slate with the Bears going 2-0 at Utah (4-2) and BYU (4-2). The Denmark native had a successful weekend with a 3-1 overall record, being perfect in singles and earning a ranked win in doubles.
The senior captain played fast and efficient in singles, being the second court to finish in both matches. Brostrom Poulsen took down Utah's Teramo 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday before defeating BYU's Fuchs 7-6(2), 6-4 on Saturday. In doubles paired with senior
Marko Miladinovic, the 17th ranked pair grabbed a road, ranked win over Utah's Jarvis/Teramo 7-5, their second ranked win of the spring season.
Overall, Brostrom Poulsen is 22-11 for the 2024-25 season, 11-6 for the spring, in singles and 13-13 in doubles with Miladinovic. The two have a 2-5 ranked record in dual matches.
With the help of Brostrom Poulsen, Baylor men's tennis currently holds a ranking of 16 in latest ITA team rankings. With a 3-1 conference record, Baylor is No. 2 in the Big 12.
Baylor and Brostrom Poulsen continue their conference slate this week, traveling to Orlando, Fla. to compete against No. 17 UCF.
