
WT Set for Two Conference Matchups in Arizona

Bears face the Wildcats on Friday at 2 p.m. and the Sun Devils on Sunday at 2 p.m.
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis is set to travel west to the Grand Canyon State as they face No. 31 Arizona on Friday at 2 p.m. in Tucson, and No. 38 Arizona State at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Tempe.
Baylor (16-4, 7-3 Big 12) earned their sixth sweep of the season, fourth at 4-0, against Iowa State before falling to Oklahoma State, 4-0, to close out the weekend at the Hurd Tennis Center. Arizona (16-7, 6-3 Big 12) is coming off a 4-3 victory over Arizona State (11-6, 6-3 Big 12) and the Sun Devils host TCU before the Bears trek to Tempe.
After not having a match against one another in over 20 years, the Bears and Wildcats are 2-1 all-time, with the U-of-A holding the advantage. The last time the two programs met was February 28, 2003, when the Wildcats won, 6-1. BU and ASU have a split series at 1-1,with the Bears claiming the last matchup, 4-2, in 2024.
Baylor has one ranked singles player in freshman No. 108 Na Dong, while Liubov Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea hold the No. 43 ranking in doubles.
Ranked for Arizona is the No. 50 singles player, Josie Usereau, also with the No. 62 doubles pair of Midori Castillo and Martyna Ostrzygalo.
