Bears face off against Denver on Thursday and Montana on Sunday
MISSOULA, Mont. – Baylor soccer is headed north for the Rumble in the Rockies, a tournament hosted by the University of Montana Grizzlies at South Campus Stadium. BU hits the pitch against Denver on Thursday at 4 p.m. CT and versus the host Montana on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. CT. Both matches will be live on ESPN+.
The Bears are one week removed from their season-opening draw against Texas A&M in College Station, where junior transfer Lauren Omholt netted the first goal of the season in the 81st minute off an assist from sophomore Alysiah Lockette. The 1-1 tie was the second season-opening knot of the Michelle Lenard era.
Facing Denver for the first time since 1999, BU will suit up with a chance to extend the all-time series lead to 2-0. In that 1999 meeting, Baylor took a 3-2 win in overtime before hosting the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
The match against Montana will also be the second in program history, with the last match coming early in the 1998 season. Baylor ran away with a 4-1 win over the Grizzlies and ended the season ranked 18th in the nation.
The 2025 home slate, which was announced as free for all fans, begins next Thursday as Baylor hosts Mississippi State for Betty After Dark at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear black and will receive 30th season thunder sticks, while supplies last.
