IRVING, Texas – Baylor volleyball had two chosen to the Big 12's Preseason Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Victoria Davis and Florida graduate transfer middle blocker
Gabrielle Essix were selected for the Preseason All-Big 12 team.
Davis, originally from Santa Clarita, Calif., finished her sophomore season with 74 total blocks and 87 kills, bringing her career totals to 83 and 93, respectively. She averaged 1.21 kills per set along with 1.03 blocks per set for the Bears.
Essix, hailing from Hoover, Alabama, via Gainesville, Florida, played just one match for the Gators in 2024 before injury. In that five-set match, she had a career-high 16 kills with a .714 hit percentage, coming against Florida State. Essix comes to Baylor with 258 career blocks and 324 kills.
The Bears were also chosen as the No. 6 program in the Preseason Poll with 137 points, behind BYU, Kansas, Arizona State, Utah and TCU, respectively.
