LUBBOCK, Texas – Baylor's trio of Tenly Kuhn, Molly Haywood and Alencia Lentz grabbed three of the top five spots in the pole vault on Friday's opening day in the Jarvis Scott Invite at Texas Tech's Sports Performance Center.
Kuhn was the top collegian and No. 2 overall with a season-best mark of 14-0 ¾, with Haywood third at the same bar with more misses and Lentz fifth at 13-7. Former Oklahoma vaulter Kenzie Beukes, competing unattached, won the event by clearing 14-4 ¾ on her first attempt.

On the men's side, freshman Kingston Williams fell short of his season best but placed seventh in the long jump Section B, going 23-1 ¾ on the first of his six attempts.
Senior Tiriah Kelley advanced through two rounds of the 60 meters, clocked at 7.38 in the semifinals, but was one of four athletes who didn't run in Friday night's final. In the 400 meter finals, freshman Cymia Yourish (56.41) and sophomore Aaronya Kinchen (56.66) both recorded season-best teams, while sophomore Sameena Mathew was just off that pace at 56.74.

At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University, redshirt freshman Amon Malakwen finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.34. Sophomore Ruth Kimeli is scheduled to run the 5,000 meters on Saturday at the Boston meet.
