Bears to celebrate 15 seniors for Senior Day
WACO, Texas – The Baylor equestrian team closes its three-meet homestand hosting No. 7 TCU on Saturday for its last home meet of the season at 11 a.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center for the Go Gold meet.
The Bears (1-7, 1-3) face the Horned Frogs (6-4, 2-2) in BU's third straight ranked matchup of the spring. BU leads the all-time series against its rivals, 26-14.
The last time the two squads met was in the fall, when Baylor's senior duo of Lauren Jorgensen and Lauren Reid earned MOP honors in Fences and Flat, respectively. The Bears had the early lead but fell in the second half to the Horned Frogs 11-8.
BU has had a week off from competition to practice after a hard-fought loss to then-No. 5 Oklahoma State, where the Bears lost in a close 10-8 contest.
The Bears earned event wins in Flat and Fences, 3-2 and 4-1, respectively. Junior Sofia Moskowitz earned her first career MOP with a career-high ride of 84.5.
As the home slate comes to a close, it is Senior Day for the 2026 graduating class. Baylor will be honoring its 15 graduating seniors at the conclusion of the meet.
For the Jumping Seat side, Lucia Ament, Lilly Anthes, Mia Chimenti, Emma Covarrubias, Maddie Jordan, Lauren Jorgensen, Meredith Miller, Lauren Reid and Caroline Robelen will be honored.
For the Western side, Kaydee Bennett, Kalena Reynolds, Blaise Runyon, Kaitlyn Smith, Anna Thron and Bella Hehr will be honored.
All home BU equestrian meets are free to the public. Saturday's meet is the first Cub Club Event of the New Year. Cubs can get a pony ride outside Willis from 11-11:45 a.m. Fans are also encouraged to wear gold for the Bears Go Gold meet. The first 100 fans will receive a Baylor EQ 20th season gold t-shirt.
