Arthur continues her Freshman award streak and Washington hits double digit recognitions
WACO, Texas – Mo Arthur earned her fifth consecutive weekly honor from the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA), being named Freshman of the Week on Wednesday. She was joined by Payton Washington, who collected her second straight Athlete of the Week honor this season, and Leavy McDonald, who secured honorable mention for Specialist of the Week.
Arthur, a base from Owensville, Mo., competed in eight heats and team event for Baylor last week. Her performance included two 10.0 scores in the Compulsory Toss and Inversion Pyramid heats.
Her performance was highlighted by her second time earning a perfect score on Compulsory Toss this season. Arthur now owns five perfect 10.0s this season, showing off her immediate impact and consistency as both a base and mid-level.
She opened the meet in Compulsory Acro, scoring a 9.65/10 as a base. In Compulsory Pyramid, she earned a 9.85/10 competing as a mid-level. Arthur also based in Compulsory Toss, helping secure the perfect 10.00 with elite timing, power and precision to earn her fourth perfect score of the season.
Arthur competed as a base in the 5-Element Acro heat, earning a 9.90/10. In Heat 1 Pyramid and Heat 2 Pyramid, she served as the sole mid-level, scoring her fifth 10.00 and 9.75/10, respectively.
She continued her strong showing in Toss, serving as a base in Heat 2 Toss (9.50 out of 10) before earning a 9.80/10 in Heat 3 Toss.
In the Team Event, Arthur performed an elite acro sequence, successfully executing five of the 30 required acro skills, each with a start value of 10, completing the performance with precision and control.
Washington claimed her 10th all-time Athlete of the Week honor, competing in nine heats and team event for the Bears last week. She led Baylor to seven scores of 9.50 or higher, including a perfect 10 in compulsory toss and a 9.90 in open tumbling, demonstrating exceptional difficulty and execution across all events.
She competed as the top in Compulsory Acro and Compulsory Toss, scoring 9.65/10 and a perfect 10.0, respectively, one of the meet's top highlights, showcasing elite body control, amplitude and execution. Washington also competed as one of eight tumblers in Compulsory Tumbling, contributing to a 8.60/10 team score.
In Optional Acro, Washington served as the top in the 7-Element heat, scoring 9.75/10. She performed the hand-to-foot sequence within the routine, which carried a raw start value of 10.7 before being capped at 10, demonstrating both high difficulty and composure.
She also topped Heat 2 Pyramid, earning 9.75/10.
Washington competed in Heat 2 Toss (9.50 out of 10) and Heat 3 Toss (9.80/10), while adding strong tumbling performances with a 8.95/10 in Heat 3 Tumbling (Quad) and an impressive 9.90/10 in Heat 6 Tumbling (Open).
In the Team Event, Washington executed three standing tumbling passes, two tosses (with start values of 9.9 and 10), three acro skills as a top (all start values of 10), topped a pyramid (start value of 10) and completed a synchronized running tumbling pass. Her performance reflected elite difficulty and execution throughout the routine.
Earning honorable mention for specialist of the week, McDonald delivered a powerful and technically demanding performance, competing in eight individual heats in addition to the team event.

She was a mid level base with extended hand to foot elements in Heat 2 (9.75/10) and extended hand to hand elements in Heat 3 Pyramid (9.85/10) with two different tops. Outside of pyramid heat, she also competed in 7 Element Acro where she executed elite level hand to foot elements and hand to hand elements with two different tops. She competed in eight heats as a base with a total of three different tops throughout the meet.
In the team event, McDonald performed an elite acro sequence, successfully executing five of the thirty required acro skills, each with a start value of 10. Her performance was completed with a high level of execution and precision.
