
EQ’s Lauren Jorgensen Earns NCEA’s Arion Sellier Fences, Flat Rider of the Month Honors

Jorgensen earns second and third monthly accolades of the season
WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Lauren Jorgensen was named the Arion Sellier Fences and Flat Rider of the Month by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA), as announced Wednesday by the organization.
Jorgensen picked up her second honor in Flat after an undefeated 2-0 month, collecting a Most Outstanding Performer nod against Fresno State. The Albuquerque, N.M. native averaged a high score of 80.5 with a win margin of eight points.
She beat an opponent on a neutral site and one top-eight opponent, having spreads over opponents of 13 and three, respectively. Jorgensen's 13-point victory over UT Martin helped lead the Flat squad to a 4-0 sweep and contributed to an 8-0 Jumping Seat victory. She earned her third season MOP with an 84-81 victory over Fresno State to lead the Bears to a 3-2 Flat win. Jorgensen had the second-highest score in the event against the Skyhawks and also earned the highest score in the event against the Bulldogs.
In Fences, the senior posted a 2-0 record in March and collected an MOP honor against UT Martin. Jorgensen averaged a high score of 84.5 with a win margin of 12.5 points.
In her wins over UT Martin and Fresno State, she had spreads of 2.5 and 22.5, respectively. Jorgensen's 85.5-83 MOP victory over the Skyhawks led the Fences squad to a 4-0 sweep. She had a 22.5-point victory over a top-eight opponent, Fresno State on the road, to contribute to the Bears' 3-2 Fences win.
These are Jorgensen's second and third career monthly honors. She finishes the regular season with a 7-2-2 and 5-3 record in Fences and Flat, respectively. The senior ends the regular season with a perfect 6-0 conference record in Fences and currently holds the second-highest program record for season score average in Fences in a minimum of 10 meets during the Maxwell Era, with an average score of 84.36.
Baylor travels to Stillwater, Okla., for the 2026 Big 12 Equestrian Championship March 27-28. No. 4 seed BU will face the No. 1 Seed Oklahoma State Cowgirls in the semifinals on March 27 at 10 a.m. at the Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center.
