Starting the day in seventh place, Baylor was 7-under through the first 11 holes in Tuesday's third round and moved up to fourth. But the Bears had nine bogeys in the closing seven holes to shoot 1-under 279 and are tied for sixth with BYU at 8-over 848.

Starting the day in the top 10 after back-to-back 1-under 69s, Heard birdied three of the first seven holes to move up to third in the individual standings. But he bogeyed five of the last 10 holes to shoot 2-over 72 and tie Ovard for 14th at even-par 210.
Auburn transfer Evan Vo had the Bears second-best score of the day with a 1-under 69 and is tied for 31st at 4-over 214 with senior Jonas Appel. Shooting a quiet 1-over 71, Appel had two birdies and three bogeys mixed with 13 pars on the difficult par-72 course.
