Coach Jay Goble Adds Arrizon from Tulane as Assistant Coach
WACO, Texas – Ornella Arrizon has been named the assistant coach of the Baylor women's golf program, it was announced by Coach Jay Goble on Tuesday.
A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Arrizon joins the Baylor staff after serving as the assistant coach for Tulane women's golf during the 2025-26 season.

"I look forward to contributing to the program's continued success while helping our student-athletes grow as competitors and individuals. Arrizon joined the Tulane program following two seasons as the graduate assistant at South Alabama from 2023-25. She also served as the Director of Instruction for Junior Academies Club de Golf Vallescondido and Club de Golf Bellavista following a stellar career at Jacksonville State from 2009-13, winning the Ohio Valley Conference Championship as an individual.
"Ornella is an outstanding coach who brings a wealth of golf knowledge to our team next year," Goble said. "She has played golf at a super-high level but was also a swing coach in Mexico City for over 10 years before deciding to come back and get a double master's degree at South Alabama. Her international and domestic recruiting abilities will also be very helpful in bringing the best players from around the world to Baylor.
During her time in New Orleans, Arrizon helped the Green Wave to a seventh-place finish at the American Golf Championships, its best finish since 2023. Sophia Chen finished 16th overall at the conference championships and Francesca Pompa placed 26th.
She served as a graduate assistant for two seasons at South Alabama from 2023-25. During her tenure at South Alabama, she helped guide the Jaguars to four top three tournament finishes, which included winning the Green Wave Invitational at TPC Louisiana in September 2024. She helped coach a pair of two all-conference selections and the Freshman of the Year in the Sun Belt in 2025.
Prior to her time with the Jaguars, she served both as Director of Instruction for Junior Academies at Club de Golf Vallescondido (four years) and Club de Golf Bellavista (three years), while overseeing golf operations and events.
Arrizon has also served as an on-air commentator for LIV Golf Tour tournament broadcasts in Mexico and Latin America. She holds golf certifications with TPI, Golf Biomechanics, U.S. Kids, Trackman and Sam Putt Lab, and was part of a Certificate Program in Sports Psychology in 2021. Arrizon has also been a member of PGA of Mexico since 2020.
She had a stellar collegiate career at Jacksonville State from 2009-13 where she was a three-time Ohio Valley all-tournament team selection. As a junior, Arrizon claimed the individual OVC Championship and led the Gamecocks to an NCAA Regional appearance.
Arrizon earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and graduated magna cum laude from Jacksonville State in 2013. She also obtained a pair of Master of Science Degrees from South Alabama in 2025, one in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion, and another in Sport Management.
