Meagan Diaz is in her fifth season as an assistant coach for Baylor softball.
Diaz was promoted during the summer of 2023 from volunteer assistant to assistant coach of the Baylor softball program. She primarily works with the defense and assists with refining hitting techniques.
During the 2024 season, Diaz worked primarily with the defense, helping the team back to its first Super Regional appearance since 2017. Diaz’s defense turned 24 double plays as a team and held opponents two one run or less in 22 games throughout the season.
She helped lead the 2023 squad back to the NCAA postseason appearance with a 40-18 record.
During the 2022 season, Diaz helped develop the young team and was in charge of all Baylor softball camps.
Formally Meagan Weldon, the Humble native returns to her alma mater where she lettered in softball for four years. Diaz played second base for the Bears and was a two-year starter, a team captain and a member of the 2011 WCWS team. She appeared in 120 games for BU and finished with a .262 batting average.
Diaz previously served as a high school softball coach at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, along with Magnolia West, Keller, Aldine, Jasper and most recently, Stephenville.
The Splendora, Texas native is married to Isaac Diaz and they have a daughter, Olivia.
