Daniel Saenz serves Baylor Athletics as the Assistant Director of Spirit & Traditions, primarily overseeing the Co-ed Yell Leaders and the Mascot Sic'urity Team.
Saenz joined Baylor in June of 2023 with primary oversight of the Coed Yell Leaders. He served his first 12 years with the program in a part time role as an assistant cheer coach. In the 2023-24 year he was primary oversight for the Co-Ed Yell Leaders, adding the Mascot Sic'urity under his perview in 2024-25.
He earned his degree from Baylor in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design and was also a member of the Coed team from 2001-04 where he met his wife, Kristen.
After graduation, Daniel and Kristen bought a local gym where they had been employed during college. They’ve owned and operated the award-winning Texas Dynasty Cheer & Gymnastics since 2006 and love sharing their passion with the Waco community. Over the past 20 years he has coached, choreographed and produced music for several Worlds and Summit teams in addition to numerous national championship winning routines for all-star, high school, and college squads. In 2006 he was a member and captain of the International Champion USA Spirit Team.
In addition, Daniel was a safety official for the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association and has multiple safety certifications with USA Cheer, the U.S. All-Star Federation, and USA Gymnastics. In Daniel's free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, drawing and spending time with their 4 dogs Quinn, Kya, Piper and Knox.
