Wilbert London, Jr.

After joining the Baylor Track and Field staff as a volunteer assistant to begin the 2016 season when his son, Wil London III, joined the team, "Pops" was officially added as an assistant coach to begin the 2023-24 season.

In his stint on the volunteer side, London coached 19 All-Americans and 13 Big 12 Champions in the sprint and relay events.

During the 2024 season, London’s experience led athletes like Demar Francis, who captured the Big 12 title in the men’s 400 meters with a personal-best time of 45.44 seconds. London’s impact was especially pronounced in Baylor’s relay teams. The men’s 4x100 meter relay team, composed of Ricquan Graham, Laurenz Colbert, Kamden Jackson, and De’montray Callis, shattered the program record with an astonishing time of 38.86 seconds. Additionally, the men’s 4x400 meter relay team, featuring Kamden Jackson, Demar Francis, Laurenz Colbert, and Nathaniel Ezekiel, clinched a silver medal at the Big 12 Championships with a season-best time of 3:03.49. The women’s 4x100-meter relay team, featuring Tiriah Kelley, Kayla Hunt, Alexis Brown, and Michaela Francois, set a new program record at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with a time of 42.66 seconds, becoming the first Baylor women’s team to record a sub-43-second time under the leadership of London.
