Tony Greene joined Baylor's women's basketball program as an assistant coach in June of 2021. He was promoted to associate head coach in July of 2023 and enters his sixth season with the program in 2026-27.

Greene primarily works with the guards and the team's defensive strategies, and that work paid off in a big way in 2025-26. Baylor ranked No. 9 nationally in three-point field-goal percentage defense (No. 1 in the Big 12), No. 5 in blocks per game (No. 1 in the Big 12) and No. 13 in field-goal percentage defense (No. 2 in the Big 12). Greene developed Darianna Littlepage-Buggs into a Big 12 leader with 14 double-doubles, helping her earn a second-straight All-America Honorable Mention and get selected in the WNBA Draft. He also developed guard Taliah Scott, who averaged 19.7 points per game en route to First Team All-Big 12 honors, the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week award, two Big 12 Player of the Week selections and an All-America Honorable Mention nod.

Greene's track record of guard and defensive development stretches back through his time at Baylor. He helped Sarah Andrews become a second-team All-Big 12 performer in her starting role after coming in sparingly off the bench the season prior and helped her elevate to a first-team selection in 2023. As defensive coordinator, he helped a Baylor team lead the conference in field-goal percentage defense in year one on staff and helped the Bears hold their opponents to just 29.8% from range in year two. The Bears' Bella Fontleroy also earned a Big 12 All-Defensive Team honor following the 2024-25 slate, paired with Littlepage-Buggs' first WBCA All-America Honorable Mention season, when she averaged 13.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Greene came to Baylor from Marquette, where he was an assistant coach and brings 27 seasons of experience as a collegiate coach. In Greene's only season at Marquette, he helped the Golden Eagles to a 19-7 record, a Big EAST Tournament title appearance, and Marquette made the NCAA Tournament's first round in 2021.

Greene finished his playing career at Langston University in Oklahoma in 1993, and from there his illustrious coaching career began. He stayed on as an assistant coach with the women's program beginning with the 1994-95 season and stayed through the 2007-08 campaign.

After leaving his alma mater, Greene spent four seasons as an assistant at Grambling State, three years at Texas Southern, three at Toledo, two at Ole Miss and one at Marquette. His teams have reached the postseason 12 times, Greene has guided more than 30 players to all-conference honors, he's coached six All-Americans, five conference players of the year and multiple Academic All-Americans.

While at Ole Miss, he was a part of a staff that brought in the No. 1-ranked SEC recruiting class and the No. 13-ranked national class by espnW, which included two five-star and a pair of three-star recruits. espnW also ranked Greene's 2012 class at Texas Southern No. 6 among mid-majors and No. 42 in the nation. Greene also specialized in guard development in all his coaching stops.

Greene is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated and the Women's Basketball Association. Greene and his wife, Aniece, have four daughters, Toni, Nadia, De Naijia and Anieya, and one son, Charm.
