Parker Schrater is in his first season in 2026 as a Quality Control Coach, working with the Baylor football defense. He was announced in his role on March 3, 2026.
Schrater comes to the Baylor staff after serving as the safeties coach and co-special teams coordinator at Pittsburg State. He previous spent six years on the staff at Kansas State, including two years as a defensive graduate assistant from 2023-24, and as a student-assistant coach from 2020-23.
His 2025 season was spent in Kansas at Pittsburg State, as the safeties coach and special-teams coordinator. He helped guide Pittsburg State to a 10-3 record, including an 8-1 mark in conference play, claiming the league title. The Gorillas advanced to the NCAA DII Playoffs and earned a first-team round on No. 22 Chadron State, before falling vs. No. 2 Harding. He helped lead the kickoff coverage and return unit and helped mentor All-American Jordan Rogers.
Schrater was a graduate assistant for the 2023 season working with safeties, and then moved into working with the linebackers in 2024.
Parker Schrater is in his second season as a defensive graduate assistant and his sixth year overall within the Wildcat football program. In his current role, Schrater assists in coaching the linebackers.
Schrater helped the Wildcats to another banner year defensively in 2023, as K-State finished the season ranked in the top 30 nationally in eight categories, placing 11th in third-down defense (30.2%), 16th in fumble recovered (10), 18th in pass efficiency defense (118.63), 20th in turnovers gained (23), 25th in interceptions (13), 26th in scoring defense (21.0), 28th in first downs allowed (225) and 30th in red zone defense (89.2%). Although the Wildcats allowed points in nearly 90% of their opponents’ red zone attempts, only 39.4% of those resulted in touchdowns, which was the second-best mark in the nation.
The previous four seasons Schrater has served as an undergraduate defensive coach. He signaled defensive play calls in both practices and games, pulled clips for safety position meetings, drew play cards for the scout team offense and helped with film breakdown. Schrater received his start within the football program as a student equipment manager in 2019.
Schrater earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in entrepreneurship from K-State in May 2023.
