Men's Tennis Wraps Up Action in Georgia Scramble

Waco, Texas - Baylor's men's tennis team, in Athens, Georgia to participate in the second-annual Bulldog Scramble, was swept in doubles by Florida and but won three of six singles matches against the Gators on Sunday.
Six Baylor players, Armando Carrascosa, Mike Garcia, Matias Marin, Nathan McGregor, Zoltan Papp and Cory Ross, represented the Bears in the scramble.
The teams are playing a round robin format with individual results, but no team scoring.
The Gators won all three doubles matches but not without a fight. Baylor's Garcia and McGregor lost to Eleazar Magallan and Troy Hahn of Florida, 8-6. Papp and Marin lost by the identical score and Ross and Carrascosa narrowly lost, 9-8.
The Bears posted three wins in their six singles matches against the Hurricane. Papp, McGregor and Ross all were victorious for the Bears.

Next action for the Bears will be at the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas beginning Thursday, Nov. 8. The championships feature a 32-player singles field and 16-team doubles field. Markus Hornung and Reiner Neurohr are entered in doubles and Benni Becker will compete in singles.
* A 10-point tiebreaker was played in lieu of a third set.
