WACO, Texas - Baylor head men's tennis coach Matt Knoll has been selected by his fellow coaches as one of five members of the Region VI Advisory Committee for the 2001 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships.
The five members of the committee assist in the selection of teams and individuals for the NCAA Championships, to be held May 19-28 in Athens, Ga. Each regional committee presents its nominations to a national committee, which makes the final selections.
"It's an honor to be part of the selection committee," Knoll said. "I hope to make a meaningful contribution in helping promote our sport through the NCAA Championships."
Knoll's Bears have finished among the top 10 teams in the nation each of the past two seasons and are currently ranked 19th. Since being named head coach, Knoll has led his team to NCAA appearances in three of his four full seasons.
The Baylor men host third-ranked Duke Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Streich Tennis Courts.
