Cross Country Runners Compete at Texas A&M Invite

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Baylor cross country team took a women's "B" squad and an individual male to the Texas A&M Invitational today at the A&M Golf Course.

In the women's race, freshman Angela Marvin had a strong performance as she took second among the University women with a time of 21:37 on the 6,000-meter course. Sophomore Emily Bonilla clocked a 23:19 to finish 26th. Junior Katherine Duncan finished 51st with a time of 24:16. Finishing next for the Bears was newcomer April Hurst. She recorded a personal best time of 24:39 to take 62nd place. With a time of 24:49, sophomore Lindsey Price finished 72nd. As a team, the women's "B" squad finished eighth in the 21-team race.

The only competitor for the men was freshman Robert Harris. He took 78th place with a time of 30:30 on the 8,000-meter course.

The men's and women's teams will both compete with a full squad next week when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Pre-National meet on the Indiana State course where the NCAA Championships will be held in November.
