Men's Hoops Season Preview Press Conference, Part II

Men's basketball players R.T. Guinn and John Lucas spoke with the media Tuesday to preview the upcoming season. Below are selected excerpts from their comments:
R.T. GUINN
We are going to be a good defensive team, and very athletic. We will not have room for mistakes and that is what we are working on right now.
JOHN LUCAS
This year we are looking forward to a big season. We have a lot of guys coming in that will help us right away. Upperclassmen like Matt Sayman have really helped me out this year by their example in weightlifting and conditioning. I see him get bigger so it makes me push myself in the weight room because last year I just wanted to play ball, but this year I see myself getting bigger and stronger by working with Dave Goodfellow our strength and conditioning coach. It has helped me a lot mentally and physically. Basketball-wise I think we can compete with the best of them. I have been looking forward to this season since the end of last season.
The guys coming have a lot of experience coming from JUCO. Once they get into Coach Bliss' system they will fit in a lot better. We only have a few guys from high school; they will be good here in the next couple years. Once everybody comes together and starts playing together more often things will flow a lot better defensively for us.
