#7 Kansas State 74, #10 Baylor 73 (OT)

  • The last meeting between Kansas State and Baylor in postseason tournament play was their first-ever meeting - the 1948 Final Four played in Kansas City. Baylor won the game 60-52, advancing to the national championship game where it lost to Kentucky.
  • Tonight's overtime game is Baylor's first since its first-round Big 12 Tournament matchup vs. Colorado. It's the third overtime game in tournament history, and Baylor has played in two of those games. Tonight's game is Kansas State's first overtime contest since Jan. 20, 2001, when it lost to No. 22 Oklahoma. Kansas State has played one overtime conference tournament game prior to tonight - the Wildcats defeated Nebraska, 61-60, in double overtime in 1979.
  • Kansas State opened the game 1-of-7 from the field, but then made six straight field goals to take an 18-17 lead.
  • Tonight's 30-30 halftime tie marks only the second tie in Big 12 Tournament history. K-State was involved in the previous tie March 6, 1999, when the Wildcats and Kansas were knotted at 31-31 at half.
  • Baylor teams have made at least one three-point basket in 322 straight games.

With tonight's win vs. K-State, Baylor's three-game win streak vs. the Wildcats was snapped.

With four steals vs. Kansas State, Baylor set a single-season steals record. Baylor also set the single-season three-point record tonight with 273.

  • Larry Reid, Kansas State's leading scorer with a 14.4 ppg average, was held scoreless until the 10:44 mark in the second half. He only had one field goal attempt, a three-pointer, in the first half. He scored 13 points in the second half, including the basket that tied the game at 60-60 and sent it into overtime. Reid's seven three-point field goals attempts ties his season high, which he had done twice previously.
  • Baylor's Lawrence Roberts posted his eighth double-double of the season tonight with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. He has played well vs. Kansas State this season. In the regular-season meeting on Jan. 16, Roberts tallied a game-high 20 points.
  • KSU's Nick Williams scored a season-high four three-point field goals. He had three in two previous games. He shot a season-high 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from the three-point line. His field goal percentage was a season-high 85.0 percent (6-of-7).
  • KSU's Pervis Pasco recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
  • BU's John Lucas was held scoreless in the first half, but finished the game with 16 points.
  • With his four blocked shots tonight, Baylor's Greg Davis moved into fourth place on BU's career blocked shot list.
