WACO, Texas - Baylor volleyball will hold its annual Green and Gold Match at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ferrell Center. The intrasquad scrimmage concludes preseason drills for the Bears, who open their 2002 season Aug. 30-31 at the Mizuno Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Head coach Brian Hosfeld will host an open-mic session during the match, in which he will discuss the upcoming season and answer any questions from fans.
Prior to the match, there will be a reception held in the VIP Room of the Ferrell Center at noon. Hosted by the Quick Attack Club, the official booster organization of Baylor volleyball, the reception is an opportunity for fans to socialize with Hosfeld and the players. There will also be an opportunity for prospective Quick Attack Club members to join.
Baylor's season opener is Aug. 30 against Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. CDT at the Mizuno Invitational. The Bears also play Loyola-Chicago the following day at 1 p.m. CDT and 2001 national runner-up Long Beach State that night at 9:30. All three opponents at the Mizuno won their conference last season with ORU and LBSU advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
