Albuquerque, N.M. - Baylor's women's golf team has moved into 11th place at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational. After the second round of play, the Bears finished the day at 44-over par with a score of 312 in day two of the three-day tournament in Albuquerque.
Tournament host New Mexico is still holding on to the first place slot, the University of Washington and Oklahoma trail the Lobos by eight strokes (+13). New Mexico State (+16), and Pepperdine (+17) round out the top five.
Junior Michaelyn Morgan who shot an 8-over par, is tied for 25th place. Following close behind Morgan, senior Melanie Hagewood shot 9-over par leaving her tied for 31st place after day two. Senior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson moved into a tied 42nd place after shooting a 76, and junior Kelli McKandless shot an 81 leaving her tied for 78th place. Rounding out the Baylor scoring is freshman Josefin Svenningsson (+19); she is currently in 81st place.
The third and final round will commence at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The UNM Championship Course plays to a par-73 on 6,069 yards. The top four scores of each team will be counted towards the team total.
