Women's Golf Finishes Ninth in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Baylor's women's golf team finished ninth out of nineteen teams after the final round of play at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational.

The Bears were led by senior Melanie Hagewood who shot 77-78-73 to finish with a total of 228 and tied for 23rd place.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bears were junior Michaelyn Morgan who shot 77-77-75=229 finishing in 25th place and senior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson who shot 80-76-77=233 putting her tied for 34th place. Junior Kelli McKandless finished tied for 69th place (83-81-79=243) and freshman Erin Bradford finished in 97th place (82-90-83=255).

Baylor freshman Josefin Svenningsson entered as an individual and finished tied for 73rd with rounds of 82-83-79 for a total of 230.

New Mexico successfully defended its title to win the tournament for the second year with a total score of 891, seven strokes ahead of second place finishers Washington and Pepperdine (898). Oklahoma (901) and Tulsa (907) rounded out the top five finishers.
