Men's Tennis Competes in UTSA/Sonterra Invitational

WACO, Texas - Baylor men's tennis advances one player into the Quarterfinals round of the UTSA Invitational, Friday, Oct. 10. Ivor Lovrak was given a first round bye, but then went on to defeat Nick Porter of UTPA 6-2, 6-1 in the second round, and Dennis Andrade of UTSA 6-1, 6-2 in the third.
Jason Gould made it past Ivan Camillo of A&M Corpus Christi 1-6, 7-6, 10-7 to advance to the second round where he defeated Mario Quintero of St. Edward's 6-3, 6-4. Gould was eventually beaten by Hubert Chadkiewicz of Texas 6-4, 4-0.
Baylor's last player competing, Jon Reckewey defeated Jake Frederick of A&M Corpus Christi 6-0, 6-1, then went on to defeat Jeremy Salvo of UTPA 7-5, 6-3. Reckewey was defeated in the third round of the tournament, losing to Jordan Freitas of Tyler Junior College 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
Competing as partners in the double competition Gould and Reckewey received a bye in the first round, then defeated Oliver Steil and Nick Porter of UTPA 8-6 to move in the Quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. Saturday Oct. 11.
