Women's Golf Finishes 2nd in New Mexico

WACO, Texas - Baylor women's golf advanced into second place on the final day of Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State. The Bears shot a total of 604 in the first two rounds and carded a 286 today, ending with a score of 890. The University of Oklahoma won the tournament just two strokes ahead with 888.

Kansas State's Christine Boucher scored a 213 and took first place at the 6,319 yard, 73-par course in Las Cruces, N.M. The Baylor team ended the tournament Wednesday with three top-20 finishes. Baylor senior Michaelyn Morgan shot a 2-under par today (71) and finished in a three-way tie for second (219). Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson finished the tournament at 7-over par (223), in a tie for sixth. Senior Kelli McKandless carded a 69 in today's round and advanced 13 spots into 15th place.

Freshman Anna Rehnholm shot rounds of 78-78-71 (227) to tie for 22nd. Sophomore Erin Bradford had a total score of 237 and tied for 47th. Sherry Summers, who played individually, tied for 81st.

The Bears will travel to Palm Harbor, Fla., to participate in Notre Dame's Adidias Fall Classic, Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 19-21.
