WACO, Texas - Baylor University has signed Roscoe Biggers of Globe Institute of Technology in New York to a national letter of intent, head basketball coach Scott Drew announced Tuesday.

"Our staff is extremely excited to add Roscoe Biggers to our family next year," Drew said. "He is a great floor leader and someone who does a good job directing a team on the court."

A 5-11 point guard, Biggers averaged 10.1 points and 7.8 assists to lead Globe Tech to a 24-5 finish in 2003-2004 as a freshman. Biggers guided head coach Ken Wilcox's Knights to the regular season Region XV Division One junior college championship. Biggers played one year at Globe and will have three seasons of eligibility at Baylor.

Biggers was rated the 17th best prospect in New York and New Jersey as a senior by GameBall Magazine. Biggers graduated from Mt. Zion Academy in Durham, N.C. in 2002, where he averaged 17 points and eight assists and led the Warriors to a 19-4 record as a senior.

As a sophomore Biggers led New York City in scoring, averaging 30.1 points per contest, and helped Manhattan's Wadleigh High School to the PSAL semifinals.

Biggers is Baylor's second signee of the spring period and the fourth in the 2003-2004 signing class, joining Aaron Bruce of the Australia Institute of Sport, Mamadou Diene of Senegal and Patrick Fields of San Antonio Jay High School.
