The Field...
Baylor - The 26-2 Baylor Bears, ranked No. 2 nationally, head into its seventh straight NCAA Tournament. They have been selected to host first and second rounds for the second straight year and third time overall.
The Bears are led by second-ranked Benedikt Dorsch, No. 15 Benjamin Becker, No. 98 Matias Marin, No. 113 Matija Zgaga, and No. 119 Ivor Lovrak. Becker leads the team in singles wins with a 34-9 record while Dorsch follows with a 31-6 mark, Zgaga checks in at 28-6 and Lovrak rounds out the 20-victory winners with a mark of 27-6.
Georgia Tech - Ranked No. 28 in latest ITA Poll...15-7 season record...2004 marks the fourth consecutive NCAA bid for the Jackets, a school best and the Jackets have now been in five of the last six NCAA Tournaments...The Jackets are 13-0 when winning the doubles point, but only 2-7 when losing the doubles point...Senior Scott Schnugg is ranked 52nd in the latest ITA rankings and freshman Jose Muguruza is ranked 117th...Senior Scott Schnugg received an at-large bid to the NCAA singles championship. .. Tech's team is ranked 28th in the latest ITA team rankings. ..Tech is 4-3 in matches decided by a 4-3 score...The Jackets hold a 6-7 record against teams in this year's NCAA Tournament.
Manhattan College - 14-4 season record...Manhattan's MAAC Championship was the first-ever for the program, and earned the Jaspers their first ever NCAA berth. Manhattan had placed second in the MAAC Championships on four occasions, 2001, 1997, 1995, and 1992...Head Coach Arthur Bobko was named MAAC Coach of the Year after leading the Jaspers to their first ever MAAC title. It also was the first time that the MAAC has honored a Manhattan men's tennis coach. Freshman Zoltan Bus was named MAAC Men's Tennis Most Outstanding Player, the first time a Manhattan men's tennis player has received this honor...This year the Jaspers had a different look to their team, as they welcomed five new faces that have made an immediate impact. Freshman Zoltan Bus posted a 25-7 record in singles play this year, including being named the MAAC Men's Tennis Most Outstanding Player. Two sets of brothers joined the team as well, as David and Diego Alvarado and Erez and Alon Cohen began playing at Manhattan in the fall. The five also add to the international flavor of the program, as Bus hails from Romania, the Cohen's hail from Israel, and the Alvarado come to Manhattan from Costa Rica...En route to their MAAC Championship, the Jaspers ended MAAC rival Marist's five year conference dual match win streak, as well as the Red Foxes five-year stranglehold on the MAAC Title. The men's tennis championship was the seventh team championship for Manhattan athletics so far this athletic year.
SMU - Currently ranked No. 35 in ITA Poll...17-11 season record...This is the eighth straight trip to NCAA Championship for SMU....The Mustangs are anchored by the play of senior Johan Brunstrom. Brunstrom became the fourth Mustang in the past five years to be named WAC Player of the Year by the conference. As of May 6, Brunstrom is the nation's No. 26 ranked singles player and is ranked No. 26 in doubles with teammate Henrik Soderberg...Freshman Alex Skrypko enters the tournament with a team-best record of 20-5. He was named WAC Freshman of the Year...SMU is 1-1 in matches against Georgia Tech, last playing the Yellow Jackets in 1995. Georgia Tech won the match 5-2...Johan Brunstrom enters the NCAA Championship with 77 career doubles wins, ranking him third on SMU's all-time list. Brunstrom made the NCAA Doubles Finals in 2001 with former SMU great Jon Wallmark.

* The Bears have not been ranked lower than seventh nationally over the past two seasons.
* Benedikt Dorsch has never been ranked lower than No. 3 in singles.
* Baylor has been ranked No. 2 or No. 3 in 11 of the 13 ITA Polls this season.
* Junior Benjamin Becker and senior Matias Marin recently became Baylor's all-time career singles victory leaders, they each currently have 101 wins.

Bears in NCAA Singles and Doubles Tournament...
Baylor men's tennis players Benedikt Dorsch and Benjamin Becker have been selected to compete in the singles portion of the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships. Dorsch and Matija Zgaga will compete in the doubles bracket while Becker and Matias Marin are alternates.
For the second straight year, Dorsch is the tournament's No. 2 seed, he falls in behind top-seeded Brian Wilson of defending national champion Illinois. Dorsch is ranked No. 2 in the latest ITA rankings and has amassed a season record of 31-6, is 21-5 in dual match action and has a nine-match win streak going. The junior was the NCAA Tournament's runner-up in singles last season when he fell to Illinois' Amer Delic in the finals. Becker, also a junior, qualified for the third straight year. He comes in this year as a 9-16 seed and is ranked No. 15 nationally with a 34-9 record overall and is 21-4 in dual match play. He lost in the round of 32 last season and in 2002.
In doubles, Dorsch and freshman Matija Zgaga were automatic qualifiers. The tandem is ranked No. 20 and has a record of 10-3. Becker and Marin are No. 3 on the alternate list, they are ranked No. 23 in the latest ITA rankings. The duo is 20-2 on the season,18-1 in dual matches and have won 14 consecutive contests.
