LUBBOCK, Texas - Baylor junior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) shot a 1-over par 73 and is tied for ninth, while the Bears are in sixth at the Jeannine McHaney Invitational hosted by Texas Tech Friday at the 6,375-yard, par-72 Rawls Course.

Freshman Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) continues to impress early in her rookie season, firing a 2-over par 74 to tie for 13th. Juniors Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) and Sherry Summers (Montgomery, Texas) are both tied for 52nd at 78.

Sophomore Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) is tied for 89th, while freshman Stephanie Waters (Austin, Texas), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 78th at 81. The Bears posted a first-round team total of 303.

SMU leads the tournament with a 291, four strokes up on Missouri. Arkansas' Stacy Lewis leads individually with a 68, followed by Notre Dame's Katie Brophy one shot back.

The tournament continues through Sunday, with 8 a.m. tee times Saturday and Sunday.
