MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
• Prior to the game, Baylor unveiled the 2004-05 national championship, Big 12 Conference and Big 12 Conference Tournament championship banners.
• The announced attendance of 9,065 is the largest opening game crowd in Baylor women's basketball history and the ninth-largest crowd all-time.
• There were three lead changes in the game as Baylor held the game's largest lead with a 14-point lead with 2:20 left in the second half. The score was tied three times during the contest.
• Baylor will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 19, when the Lady Bears travel to Bloomington, Ind., to face Indiana at 5:00 p.m.
TEAM NOTES
• With the win over the Bruins, Baylor extended its winning streak to 22, dating back to a 69-55 loss to the Texas Longhorns on Jan. 22, 2005. The 22-game winning streak is the longest current winning streak in the nation and is the longest for Baylor in school history.
• The win extended Baylor's home winning streak to 18-straight games, dating back to a 62-59 loss to Texas Tech on Feb. 8, 2004. Baylor is now 71-10 all-time at home under head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson and 39-2 against non-conference opponents.
• The win marks the 12th-straight for Baylor in home openers, dating back to an 84-58 loss to Colorado in 1992.
• Tonight was the sixth meeting all-time between Baylor and UCLA. With the Baylor win, the Lady Bears improved to 4-2 all-time against the Bruins. Baylor has won three in a row in the series with UCLA's last win coming on Dec. 7, 1996, a 58-55 win in Los Angeles, Calif.
• Baylor held a 44-33 advantage on the boards and held an 8-0 edge in fast break points.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Sophia Young scored 26 points on the night, pushing her career total to 1,800 as she surpassed Jennifer Crow (1,798 points) of Oklahoma State on the Big 12 Conference all-time scoring list and now ranks tenth in Big 12 history for career points scored. Young ranks fifth on Baylor's all-time list.
• With 26 points, Young has scored in double figures in 48 consecutive games. She has now scored in double figures in 99 of 108 career games.
• Angela Tisdale scored 20 points to establish a new career high.
• Junior Abiola Wabara established new career highs with three blocks, six assists and 13 rebounds. Her 13 rebounds led all Baylor players in the victory.
• With 10 points and 13 rebounds, Wabara recorded her second straight double-double.
• With Baylor's Young and Tisdale scoring over 20 points each, it marked the first time since Jan. 12, 2005, versus Nebraska (Young/Steffanie Blacmon) the Bears had two players score at least 20 points in a game.
