Bears open tournament against Penn State before facing either Seton Hall or South Florida
ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Baylor women's basketball will face Penn State and either Seton Hall or South Florida in the 2026 Paradise Jam, as announced Thursday morning by Basketball Travelers.
The Bears begin play in the Reef Division on Nov. 27 against Penn State at 4:30 p.m. CT at the University of the Virgin Islands' Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports & Fitness Center. South Florida and Seton Hall will follow at 7 p.m. CT on the other side of the division bracket.
The third-place game will be played the following day, Nov. 28, at 4:30 p.m. CT, with the division championship game set for 7 p.m. CT.
Awaiting Baylor in the opening round is a Penn State team that finished the 2025-26 season with an 11-18 record and a 4-14 mark in Big Ten play. The two programs have met just three times previously, with the most recent matchup coming during Baylor's first national championship run in 2004-05.
While Baylor has never met Seton Hall, the Bears are 4-0 all-time against South Florida. The teams' most recent meeting came at the 2023 West Palm Beach Invitational, where BU earned a 73-50 victory during Nicki Collen's third season in Waco.
Fan packages for the event are available through Basketball Travelers and include options at the Westin, Hampton Inn and Emerald Beach. Each package includes a king-bed room, one all-tournament pass per person, one transportation pass per person and a welcome gift.
The tournament's other divisions include Little Rock, Tennessee Tech, Grambling State and Colorado State in the Harbor Division and Air Force, Texas Tech, Xavier and Santa Clara in the Island Division.
Each game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
