WACO, Texas - The Baylor volleyball team will hold its annual Green & Gold Game, a one-hour intrasquad scrimmage, Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.

The Bears return nine letterwinners, including six starters and four seniors from last year's team. Seniors Emily Huston, Stella Odion, Kelly Spriggs and Maggie Chlebana return as well as junior standouts Desiree Guilliard-Young and Nicole LeBlanc. Sophomores Kristen Schramek, one of the Big 12's top defensive players, Amanda Modglin and Heather Marcus and redshirt freshman Krystle Everett are also back.

New to the team this year is Melanie Hamerly, a member of Baylor's NCAA women's basketball championship team, and junior college All-American Deja Sweeney. Freshmen Kelsey Smith, who was injured earlier this week, and Jenné Blackburn, who had knee surgery before coming to Baylor, are each out along with senior Adeline Meira, one of the Big 12's top blockers, who had her second career knee surgery in the offseason.

Baylor opens the 2005 season on the road against Northwestern State and Louisiana Tech Saturday, Aug. 27, in Ruston, La.
